Liverpool have added their second new player of the summer transfer window in Lyon team captain Nabil Fekir.

Despite earlier reports suggesting a deal would not be completed until after the World Cup had finished, a fee has reportedly been agreed between the two sides.

Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has ruled out finding a resolution before the World Cup begins, though, saying the deal is at a "standstill".

However, L'Equipe have offered Liverpool fans a boost before the global tournament that kicks off next week, with the French outlet claiming that a deal is very close to being complete.

Fekir will become the Reds' third summer signing following Monaco midfielder Fabinho's £43m move and Naby Keita's impending arrival from RB Leipzig.

"Not set a base price because we have not discussed this yet".

Les Bleus will take on the United States this weekend, in their final World Cup tune-up.

UEFA Champions League runners-up Liverpool are reportedly on the verge of completing the signing of a France forward, who will be participating at the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russian Federation.

Bayern Munich and Atlético Madrid have also been linked with Fekir, who can operate in a number of forward roles and would in effect be Philippe Coutinho's replacement at Anfield.

A fourth transfer could soon be on the cards with reports claiming a £12m deal for Stoke's Xherdan Shaqiri could be in the pipeline.
