Lue: Cavs must be tougher against Celtics

2018 NBA Playoffs: Celtics sink LeBron James, Cavs in Game 2 for surprising 2-0 series lead

The Celtics Have Dominated the Cavs With Depth And Relentlessness

Before discussing the series further over the 3-day break, we take a look back at Game 2 and review each Cavaliers' players contribution. He started off the first quarter scoring 21 of the team's 27 points on 8-of-13 shooting and 4-of-7 on long-distance 3s. A jumper from James trimmed the Celtics' lead to six with 4:42 to play but the hosts scored the next eight points to pull away for the win.

Unlike Game 1, the Celtics had to wrestle the lead back from Cleveland and they did so with a big third quarter where they outscored the Cavaliers 36-22. A ideal snapshot of that was the first quarter, when James scored 21 of his 42 points in the opening period and Cleveland led by just four, 27-23. On the night, the five-time All-Star finished with 22 points and a game-high 15 rebounds, going 9-of-18 from the floor and 2-of-6 from beyond the arc.

"I think I'll be fine", he said.

Rozier scored 12 points in the quarter with his free throws getting Boston even at 66-66 with 6:11 on the clock.

By the Numbers - 528 ... postseason boards that Kevin Love has grabbed as a Cavalier, moving him past Zydrunas Ilgauskas and into third place on the franchise's all-time Playoff rebounding list.

Down seven at the half, after trailing as many as 11 in the second quarter, the Celtics made their charge in the third quarter behind Rozier and a relentless Garden-faithful fueled attack. Bron did all of this in a new pair of LeBron 15s that we see above which was inspired by the SVSM Air Zoom Generation, which will be releasing at the end of the month in case you didn't already know.

Green turned the ball over on the Cavs last possession and The Garden was re-energized heading into halftime.

His momentum was stunted briefly at the 3:50 mark of the second quarter, when Jayson Tatum was whistled for a foul after catching James jaw with his shoulder as he attempted a steal.

Early on, it seemed as if this night would belong to James and the Cavaliers. "Our group in tough times, we've always found a way". "We've got to be tougher, mentally and physically". I think they're playing tougher than we are. They're gooning the game up, and we have to do the same thing.

The Cavs not only won their two ensuing home games, but also Game 5 in Detroit before ultimately losing the series in seven games to the two-time defending Eastern Conference champions.
