The Warriors suffered a blowout defeat of 126-106 to the Pacers at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis on Thursday night. I liked our defense, I thought our defensive focus was there, our attention to detail, guys were where they were supposed to be, a few hiccups but a big improvement over (Tuesday) night.
Indiana's offense was impressive throughout.
"We're the underdog in every matchup", Oladipo said.
The Wizards are in danger of dropping to the No. 8 seed in the Eastern Conference after blowing a 17-point fourth quarter lead in Thursday's loss to the Cavaliers.
The Wizards, losers of seven of their last nine games, are tied with the Milwaukee Bucks at 42-37 with three games remaining in the regular season. Kevin Durant (27 points) led the Warriors.
Pacers: Have five wins against last year's National Basketball Association finalists - two over Golden State and three over runner-up Cleveland. IN put together an 18-6 run to take a 59-46 lead, as the Pacers scored on eight straight possessions and flummoxed the Warriors with their drive-and-kick game that set up easy scoring opportunities. A spot shooter for most of the season, Bogdanovic has been more committed to driving the lane and using the baseline to score.
The game started out pretty close, but the Pacers slowly took control of the game.
After falling into a 21-point deficit with 7:14 left, Warriors coach Steve Kerr pulled five players, including Kevin Durant, leaving them on the bench for the rest of the game before delivering his blunt postgame assessment.
The second quarter was just a teaser for a dominant third quarter.
Golden State cut Indiana's 20-point lead in half within the first 2 minutes of the final quarter. "They were more aggressive than us".
IN also moved a half-game closer to supplanting Philadelphia for the No. 4 seed. Oladipo had two other steals during the IN push, the last resulting IN a dunk that had the Fieldhouse crowd IN ecstasy.
"Caring in general was the main problem", Kerr said when asked if the Warriors' defense was the problem.
Despite a season sweep of the Warriors, the first time in six years for this franchise and to be the first team to do so of the Kerr era, this team isn't satisfied. He made 15 of 26 field goals and 11 of 12 free throws and had six assists.
