After Howard scored another run in the fourth inning, Drexel came back and scored three runs of their own: freshman Elena Woulfe hit a double to drive in sophomore Taylor Kent and junior Jenelle Ladrido, and after a wild pitch, Woulfe scored herself to seal the game at 6-5. Chojnowski scored off a fielder's choice at the end of the fifth inning, but it was not enough to rally UMass Lowell back into the game. Haley Peaslee went 2 for 4 for the Broncos with three RBIs, while No. 9 hitter Kayli Boucher went 2 for 3 with a sac bunt and a pair of runs. An error would eventually make way for a run in the inning, before a solo shot in the top of the second pushed the visitors to a 2-0 edge.

Both teams scored a run in the first, but Upperman took the first real lead with an unanswered run in the third to go up 2-1. Hawkins was 2-4. Samantha Chavez was 1-2 with 1 RBI.

The Lady Dons (10-5, 5-0) swept Pojoaque Valley Saturday, then beat Taos 13-1 on Tuesday.Andrea Ulibarri and Chrislen Archuleta both homered in the fourth inning.

The second game of the series was a much lower scoring affair. Shaw moved over to third and Sorenson singled to second base bringing in the third run of the inning, regaining the lead, 4-3.

The combination of Red Bank's batting and the Lady Purple Pounders' defensive deficiencies led to a 16-6 five-inning victory in the high school game at Red Bank that marked Central's first district loss in five games this season.
