The Nigerian Senate has lost another Senator, Mustafa Bukar, representing Katsina North senatorial district, less than a month after the death of Senator Ali Wakili.The death of the 64-year-old senator was confirmed on Wednesday by Alhaji Kanta Bukar, his younger brother.
Speaking with Vanguard Wednesday, Vice Chairman, Senate Committee on Media and Publicity, Senator Ben Murray- Bruce, PDP, Bayelsa East said that the presidency can not spend such amount of money until the National Assembly approves it.
The former minister said death must continue to serve as lesson to all, and described Bukar as a humble, God fearing and meticulous person. He was a first time lawmaker.
Until his death, Senator Bukar was the Senator representing Katsina State.
Malam Ahmed Abdullahi, the Personal Assistant to the late senator, described him as a hard working lawmaker, who represented his people diligently.
According to a biographical sketch published by National Assembly, Bukar was born in Daura in December 1953.
Remains of Senator Mustapha Bukar been carried. "We shall sorely miss his vibrancy and progressive mindset".
"This is indeed another painful moment for the Senate, a sad moment for his immediate family, his constituents in Katsina North Senatorial District and the people and government of Katsina State".
