President Muhammadu Buhari has arrived in Lagos to begin a two-day official visit to the mega commercial city of Nigeria.

Speaking during the flag-off of the deep seaport, President Muhammadu Buhari disclosed that over 170,000 direct and indirect jobs would be generated from the project.

"We have also made adequate arrangements to mitigate the impact of the closures on residents", he said.

"The temporary road closure and diversions would be within Ikeja, Maryland, Agege Motor Road, Victoria Island and Ikoyi axis".

Writing on his Instagram, the Lagos State Governor Akinwunmi Ambode announced the commissioning.

Reports indicate that business owners in Lagos were prevented from going about their daily activities as several traffic diversions had been done to enable Buhari's hitch-free movement.

"It must be recalled that on the 12th of March 2018, the Lagos State Police Command availed the NBA Ikeja branch its security assets and escorted them to the Government House Alausa to protest the increase in the Land Use Charge".
