'Black Panther's' Dominance Highlights a Growing Box Office Problem

'Black Panther' to Break Saudi Arabia's 35-Year Cinema Ban

Black Panther to become the first movie to release in a theater, after 35 years, in Saudi Arabia!

Black Panther has earned 659.3 million dollars in the domestic market. "Black Panther" has become the highest-grossing superhero film ever after surpassing "The Avengers" $624 million box office total. Worldwide, "Black Panther" has earned $1.29 billion and now stands as the tenth highest grossing film at the global box office.

It's yet another honor for "Black Panther", which has already broken several box-office records and reached $1 billion globally since coming to theaters last month.

"Black Panther" is the cinematic iceberg we've been waiting for. The film held onto the spot until it was surpassed by Cameron's next blockbuster film "Avatar" ($760.5m) and both were eventually passed by Disney's "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" ($936.6m), which still now holds the number one spot in the U.S. Well there is a new cat in town and the king of Wakanda just sank "Titanic".

The film, which was directed by Ryan Coogler, stands at $1.29 billion worldwide, ahead of smashes such as Frozen, and 2017 mega-hits Beauty and the Beast and The Fate of the Furious. However, the Leonardo Dicaprio classic film has now fallen to the number four spot after "Black Panther" climbed its way to the number three spot right behind "Star Wars: The Force Awakens".

Mr Bouhairie, also the Founder of "the God Box Foundation" said this at the weekend in an interview with the Ghana News Agency at an interfaith discussion between Pan African scholars and activists on the black Panther movie.
