The game just released in Japan in December and already Westerners can look forward to playing it on August 28.
Sega announced that the Yakuza Team is now hard at work on another Yakuza title, this time a complete remake of the second game. Pre-orders and first-run copies of Yakuza Kiwami 2 will come in a SteelBook featuring Kiryu and Ryuji Goda. Meanwhile, I'm over here contemplating starting Yakuza Kiwami. Experience gorgeous graphics on top of seamless transitions between battles or when entering or leaving buildings.
The team revealed that all voiced lines were re-recorded to be as true to the original ones on the PS2. There's also a bunch of new features added to the game, such as minigames and, more importantly, a brand-new campaign featuring Goro Majima as a playable character.
Extreme Localization - We've gone through the Yakuza Kiwami 2script with a fine-toothed comb; every effort has been made to ensure that it's the most faithful representation of the original Japanese. He explained that this entry is a huge favorite with the developers, along with the fan base, and suggested that the team might be looking into a few ideas for a possible spin-off, like Yakuza 0-2.
A new logo has also been announced for the studio working on Yakuza games, the Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio, and you can check it out at the bottom of the post. Check out the announcement trailer above.
It'll be a while before we see Yakuza 7 surface, as we still have yet to get Yakuza 6 and Yakuza Kiwami 2 this year.
