Henry County had the most significant increase, rising to 5.0 percent from 4.6 percent in January. In February, the state did suffer losses of 1,500 jobs in leisure and hospitality and another 900 in private educational and health services.
IN added 5,200 jobs in February, including 2,800 in construction and 1,900 in trade, transportation and utilities. 7,200 in financial activities, 4,700 in education and health services, 4,300 in manufacturing, 4,200 in construction and 2,800 in information technology.
EDD said six of California's 11 industry sectors added a combined 23,500 jobs in February. The state's growth rate was 0.8 percent for the year that ended in February, compared with a national rate of 1.6 percent. In February 2017, it was 4.1 percent.
Walker long ago abandoned the promise, and past year shifted to talking about filling job vacancies rather than jobs created.
"Minnesota's unemployment rate is at a level last seen in August 2000", DEED Commissioner Shawntera Hardy said in a prepared statement. Indiana's total labor force is 3.3 million.
The Associated General Contractors of America said national construction jobs rose as well last month, up 61,000 month-over-month and 254,000 year-over-year to reach almost 7.2 million. Over the year, Other Services are up 2,600 (+1.9%) jobs. "While that indicates a tight labor market, it translates into improving job opportunities for those who have struggled to find work in the past, and a more aggressive push for those workers from employers".
The number of people counted as unemployed declined 4,239 to 149,720.
The Columbus Dispatchreported that the state's jobless rate now is at a 17-year low. As a result, the two statistics may exhibit different monthly trends.
Alabama's non-seasonally adjusted unemployment rate is 4.3 percent.
The labor force is the sum of the numbers of employed residents and those unemployed, that is residents not working but actively seeking work in the last four weeks. But it was higher than the statewide average of 4.3 percent and the national average of 4.1 percent. Unemployment rates rose in 16 of 29 boroughs and census areas and remained the same in three.
