Richard Sherman: 5 Possible landing spots in 2018 for cornerback

Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman looks on prior to the game against the Arizona Cardinals at University of Phoenix Stadium

Richard Sherman's days with Seattle Seahawks apparently numbered

Richard Sherman reportedly told his teammates he's not going to be with them in Seattle for the 2018 National Football League season.

Any future discussions with the Seahawks regarding his future will continue while Sherman is in Vegas. "Sherman is set to make $11.4 million this year and $11 million in 2018 before he becomes a free agent", the outlet reported. "Haven't been told anything", Sherman told Anderson in a text message.

In all likelihood, this means the Seahawks will release Sherman, who likely wouldn't sign with another team until later this summer when he's healthy enough to pass a physical.

Kam Chancellor was less obvious with an Instagram post simply thanking Sherman for coming up with his nickname.

Former All-Pro cornerback Richard Sherman could be on the move.

Seattle cornerback Jeremy Lane kicked off the intrigue earlier Wednesday with a tweet stating: "That text message got my heart hurting ... damn 25 was my Dawg #WhatsNext" Sherman wears number 25 for the Seahawks and the tweet indicated that Lane had been told Sherman was no longer with the team.

Even if there are some concerns surrounding Sherman after watching his season come to an end in November a year ago after suffering a ruptured Achilles tendon, it should be noted that he appeared to be ahead of schedule last month, which is great news for any potential suitors.

Schneider said last Friday at the NFL Combine that the team has no untouchables, a comment that came with the team heavily rumored to undergo a significant makeover this offseason as they attempt to right the ship following a 9-7 season in 2017. Sherman will count $13.2 million against the cap in 2018. Sherman had surgery on his other Achilles tendon recently.
