Finally, following the hit sequel, Luigi's Mansion is being remade on the 3DS.
Revealed in today's Nintendo Direct, Nintendo revealed that Luigi's Mansion is planning to come to Nintendo 3DS this year. However, it appears that fans can grab the game revamped on Nintendo 3DS this year.
The trailer for the game showcased a remake of the game along with the new Bowser's Jr's Journey sidestory. Though the game looks to be mostly the same as the GameCube original, there are a few differences for the 3DS version. A Nintendo wouldn't be complete without at least a couple of sucker punches, though, as the company rounded out the 3DS news with a surprise Luigi's Mansion full remake. An 8-bit Luigi sprite has even been added as a marker for Luigi's position on the map. The game also features a new Boss Rush mode and touched up visuals.
It feels like the 3DS should be riding off into the sunset, but the consistently strong console sales and the large install base mean that Nintendo are compelled to keep looking after the system with new game announcements.
Luigi's Mansion, originally released in 2001 on the GameCube, shine the spotlight on the tall brother.
