A 21-year-old man is facing a charge of attempted murder for allegedly driving his auto into a nightclub in Gravesend, Kent, after earlier being refused entry.

A driver who allegedly rammed his vehicle into a crowd of revellers at a nightclub was detained by customers and door staff before police arrived at the scene.

He confirmed that none of the injuries suffered by the 13 victims are described as?life-threatening or life-changing? after the suspect drove his Suzuki Vitara into Blakes nightclub on Queen Street in Gravesend.

Footage posted on social media appeared to show a vehicle inside a tented area with people being led to safety by police. Footage from the scene appears to show security guards in hi-vis jackets wrestling the driver to the floor.

'However, we believe there may be more casualties out there who are yet to come forward and talk to us - we would like to hear from them as we continue to build a clear picture of what happened that night'.

'All of a sudden, I saw multiple people falling backwards onto us and so I was confused as to what was happening.


Clubbers rushed from the venue onto the street as police, ambulance and fire services arrived at the scene.

One witness, Sonny Powar, said he saw two people being hit by the auto before the driver was pulled from the vehicle.

'(It was) just a normal night out at Blake's Nightclub in Gravesend in Kent, ' he told the Press Association.

It is believed the vehicle drove along an alleyway alongside the club before crashing into it.

"We ripped the tent wall apart and got out and called the police".

'It was a complete mess of panic and chaos'.

BBC Radio 1Xtra DJ Reece Parkinson posted footage of the aftermath on Twitter as revellers fled the dancefloor amid scenes of chaos.

"A guy who didn't get in drove through the club".

"The driver of the vehicle who is believed to have been asked to leave the nightclub earlier that evening following an altercation has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and is now in custody".
