Apple is opening medical clinics for its employees

Apple is taking the necessary steps to not only be known for their electronic devices but also health care services that will be available to their thousands of employees.

Apple is preparing to open medical clinics to provide healthcare for its employees and their families in Cupertino this spring, according to a new report by CNBC.

"We believe in Trusting, Accessible Relationships with our patients, enabled by lovely and seamless technological experiences", it continues. About 12,000 employees work at Apple's headquarters.

On the network's website, AC has job postings for a number of employees, including a clinical exercise coach, nurse practitioner, primary care physician, and phlebotomist. Candidates are expected to have "appreciation for the patient experience and passion for wellness and population health".

KitGuru Says: Considering the company had only dabbled in its healthcare venture in the past, incorporating features such as a heart rate monitor and activity tracker within its Apple Watch, this is a huge leap.

The move comes following Amazon's (NASDAQ: AMZN) plans to team up with Warren Buffet and JP Morgan (LON: JMC) to create a company that helps their U.S. employees find quality care "at a reasonable cost".

Some of the new AC Wellness jobs are for Apple Park, the company's new spaceship like offices which eventually will house most of the iPhone maker's workers.

With this in mind, Apple is apparently seeking to hire "designers" who would help create a program to promote healthy lifestyles and prevent disease.

At a recent shareholders meeting, Tim Cook said Apple was in a position to "make serious contributions to the field". Apple did not respond to a request for comment.

If there's one thing we know about Apple, it must the fact that it's always looking to expand its services and add new offerings for its customers.
