TL; DR: Mahi woke up, jests Pandey of Dhoni onslaught

India look to wrap up series in second T20

India aim to seal the deal in 2nd T20I against S Africa

On Wednesday, after a rare failure by India's top three - Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan and Virat Kohli - the middle order finally stepped in as India posted a challenging 188/4.

India were struggling at 90/4 when MS Dhoni walked in to join Manish Pandey at the crease in the 11th over of the game. But on Wednesday night, Dhoni was hitting the big shots.

Dhoni's fast and furious innings was laced with 4 boundaries and 3 sixes. But this wasn't same for him in the 2nd T20I. While both batsmen were committed to give India a respected total at Centurion, Dhoni was seen yelling at his counterpart Pandey in the beginning of the 19th over. However, Pandey came to the rescue and in the company of MS Dhoni took the team to 188 in their 20 overs. While it is still unclear as to what he said, many believe that the words he used were indeed the cuss words.

The score was 171/4 in the first innings when Dhoni was on screen and the stump mic picked this up, "Oyee".

"Oye, b******e, idhar dekh le".

However, Dhoni fans, who are aplenty on social media, were quick to jump to the cricket star's defense by arguing that the Ranchi hero was not using offensive language against his batting partners. Dhoni smashed a power-packed six off the next ball where he hammered a wide delivery over covers for a six.

Pandey, who had scored the first IPL hundred by an Indian batsman at Centurion back in 2009, said it is tough following in the footsteps of the likes of Suresh Rainaand Yuvraj Singh who have batted before at number five for India. "And I feel I can deliver a lot more than what I am doing right now", he said. "(Laughs). It was his chance, he's probably the best lower down the order", he said. Over the last couple of years, Indian batting has also been doing very well. South African team for the match remained unchanged.
