EPIC GAMES Fortnite Season 3 COUNTDOWN - Battle Pass Release date, start time, server update downtime FORTNITE SEASON 3 - WHAT IS THE START TIME? Naturally, this means a new Battle Pass is upon us. In the latest season, Battle Pass can unlock 76 items across 30 tiers, including new items like "back bling" and sky trails.
There is now no date or time for the release of the Season 3 Battle Pass, but, considering Season 2 is expected to end February 21, that information should be made available very soon. You'll receive a handful of goodies right out of the gate including the new Mission Specialist Outfit. The Season 3 Battle Pass includes 100 tiers, 30 more than season two's.
And despite the extra tiers, Epic has also stated that you'll still be able to complete the Season 3 Battle Pass in the same amount of time as the Season 2 Battle Pass (typically 75-150 hours).
Epic also offers the Battle Bundle, which in this case comes with the Battle Pass as well as 25 tiers already unlocked. As Polygon highlights, you'll need to spend around $150 if you want everything without having to play at all.
As Fortnite continues to pull ahead of its biggest battle royale rival, PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, Epic Games is gunning hard to keep it that way, with plenty of new content on a regular basis.
It's worth reiterating that everything in the Battle Pass is purely cosmetic and won't have any impact at all on your in-game performance (no pay-to-win here). Contrary to the short-term goals of Season 2, these milestones unlock each week and can be completed anytime before Season 3 concludes. Each week, seven new challenges will unlock, and they stack.
Here's how you buy the Battle Pass for Fortnite season 3.
All that we know so far is that the game will be transitioning from a medieval theme to more of a space age theme.
What other Fortnite updates are coming up?
The SMG has become the first weapon to be moved into the vault, meaning it is no longer available to use in the game. Alongside the standard batch of Deals with Gold sales for the week, EA's publisher sale will bring discounts on games like Madden 18, Mass Effect: Andromeda, Star Wars Battlefront II, and more.
Developers also plan to experiment with larger team modes and games where players have less time between each circle.
