Jimmy Kimmel Still Isn't Over 2017's Best Picture Flop in New Oscars Promo

A brand new promo for the awards ceremony jokingly shows the late night host venting about last year's chaos, after stars Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway accidentally announced La La Land as Best Picture instead of real victor Moonlight.

Hosted by Jimmy Kimmel for the second-straight year, the 90th Oscars telecast will air on Sunday, March 4, 2018 and will begin at 8:00pm EST/5:00pm PST, a half hour earlier than the prior Oscars broadcast. The therapist is finally revealed to be none other than Beatty-the presenter who read out the wrong victor and was responsible for "LaLaLand" being mistakenly named Best Picture.

The most nominations went to The Shape of Water, which racked up 13 nods, including Best Picture, Best Director, "and Outstanding Achievement in Fish Penis Design", Kimmel said.

"I don't care what you do just get out of my house", Warren responds. Finally, Hollywood is recognizing a monster other than Harvey Weinstein.

Colbert mentioned nominated directors Jordan Peele and Greta Gerwig, as well as veteran actress Meryl Streep.

CNN wasn't alone in who had trouble keeping the actual Best Picture nominees straight, as Jimmy Kimmel slipped in an extra one as well.

Tuesday's Oscar nominations had late night hosts talking. To Colbert's mind, there's another monster that del Toro's fish man could represent: "It's a great story", Colbert said of the film. "He ran through the nine nominated films, but then kept going with ".and 'Boo 2: "A Madea Halloween.' A lot of people didn't think that was gonna make it, and they were wrong". "I hope he's seen 'Get Out'".

The nominations list was a refreshing change of pace-a good batch that didn't snub too many deserving figures.

Meanwhile The Daily Show's Trevor Noah opened his show by praising the diversity in the nominations this year.

Wood Jr. has some interesting theories about the deeper meanings hidden within some of these films-especially Get Out, which he's pretty sure is actually a very specific political allegory.

This morning the nominations for the premier awards event were announced.
