More of the closures, including 64 Kmart stores and 39 Sears stores, will occur in early April.
Macy's is closing 11 stores and laying off 5,000 employees but neither local store is on the list.
That means there will only be one store left in the state of Arkansas in Russellville.
Sears Holdings, which owns both Sears and K-Mart, announced the closings Thursday, extending months of similar shut downs.
In North Carolina, no Sears stores are slated to close, but five Kmart stores will close in April. Liquidation sales will begin as early as January 12 at these closing stores.
The Prices Corner Sears, located at 3240 Kirkwood Highway, was spared in a previous round of closings that shut the doors at Kmarts in Claymont, Dover and Elkton, Maryland.
The company in November reported a third-quarter 2017 net loss of $558 million.
Eligible employees will receive severance, according to the release, but it did not say how many employees would be affected overall.
There are Sears stores in Whitehall, Reading, Stroudsburg and Phillipsburg.
