Four CRPF jawans were killed and several others were injured in the attack. He said that till now three terrorists have been killed, although some terrorists are still hidden.
A group of three militants hurled grenades and resorted to indiscriminate firing with automatic weapons on the sentry posted at main gate of 185 Battalion CRPF camp at Lethpora in Pulwama. "We believe another terrorist has also been killed", Yadav told PTI. "They were challenged by camp sentries". CRPF Public Relations Officer, Bhavesh Kumar said that the three jawans were martyred due to firing and one of the jawans died due to the heart attack.
One of deceased was identified as constable Saif-ud-din Ganai of Nowgam in Srinagar.
Terming the attack as "unfortunate", Vaid said as long as Pakistan keeps sending militants, security forces and people of Kashmir will continue to go through this. They probably could not get a place and time earlier. Three terrorsits had stormed a CRPF training camp to stage a fidayeen attack at Pulwama in Jammu and Kashmir.
The IG further said, the exchange of fire was going on till afternoon on Sunday.
A Jammu and Kashmir Police team is also co-located with CRPF in this camp.
