Multiple sources are reporting that the University of OR is now without a head football coach as Willie Taggart will be returning home to take over as head coach at Florida State.

"Even before Fisher left Florida State, a source said OR offered Taggart a one-year extension on his existing contract, through 2022, increasing his five-year deal to $18 million", college football insider Brett McMurphy wrote.

OR went 7-5 under Taggart and was just awarded a spot in the Las Vegas Bowl.

I can confirm that Willie Taggart is leaving to be the next coach at Florida State. He replaces Jimbo Fisher, who took the job at Texas A&M. "'Do Something" became his tagline for his first season with the Ducks.

It was announced Sunday that the Ducks (7-5) and Broncos (10-3) would meet on December 16 for the Las Vegas Bowl.

Haggins led the Seminoles (6-6) to a 42-10 win over Louisiana-Monroe in Saturday's regular-season finale.

And now he's the Seminoles' next head coach.

The Florida native has a 47-50 career head-coaching record overall. Why hire a man who has made four bowl appearances in eight seasons as a head coach? He proved this time and time again at Western Kentucky, USF, and finally Oregon. According to 247Sports, he reeled in the nation's ninth best recruiting class for 2018 with nine 4-star recruits, four of which were from Florida.

Florida State's first coaching search in more than 40 years took less than a week to complete.
