AAA projects gasoline has the potential to drop even more this holiday.

In September gas stations in San Antonio and across Texas were hit with shortages due to Hurricane Harvey related refinery outages and gas prices spiked. Gas prices in Grand Forks are just under $2.45.

The average price for a gallon of regular gas in the Bradenton-Sarasota-Venice market was $2.35 on Sunday, down 4 cents from last week and 13 cents from a month ago, though they remain 5 cents above previous year, AAA reported Monday. It was also just before Labor Day weekend, as Florida residents kept their eyes peeled on Hurricane Irma's forecast path.

Drivers in IN are paying a bit more for gas this week, but the cost to fill their tanks is less than last month. The U.S. average is almost 20 cents higher than this time previous year. Regular unleaded is now averaging $2.16 per gallon.


GasBuddy says prices in Bedford are averaging $2.33 to $2.35 a gallon and $2.48 to $2.49 a gallon in Bloomington, with prices staying steady at $2.32 in Mitchell.

So far this year, the highest average price in Florida was $2.73 on September 9 and the lowest was $2.13 on July 17. Petersburg-Clearwater and Jacksonville regions.

"As long as demand for gasoline continues to weaken, gasoline inventories will continue growing and it'll be the gift that keeps on giving", he said.

Its December 18 evidence-based survey of gas prices across the state show the average price of a gallon of gas is $2.49. The busy holiday driving season will continue to be the most expensive in years as prices remain high after Hurricane Harvey.
