Christmas is on its way and for many it's a time for giving.

The Caledonia Police Department is seeking a woman who allegedly stole a Salvation Army red kettle from an area pharmacy.

Sponsors of this year's Christmas Day Dinner are Clark Material and Handling Company and Whitaker Bank Corporation of Kentucky. "We do whatever we can to help people in emergencies". Funds raised will help assist families at Christmas with toys and food and a variety of services throughout the year including after school programs, music instruction, recreational programs, seniors feeding, etc.

For some it is a struggle to purchase a gift for every child and for others money is too tight, but because of the program and many generous people in the community stockings will be stuffed and smiles will be plenty.

In October, over 400 families registered with The Salvation Army for assistance for Christmas. "Sometimes, a volunteer doesn't show up for whatever reason, so they give me a call, and I come and fill in". "I ring for about two hours at a time, and I go wherever they need me".

Rosie shared how the Salvation Army has helped her family out and how thankful she is for them.

"I feel like I see them all over town but I think it's a good thing if you can just spare some change when you're walking by", said Claire Crowley.

More than 75 families benefited from the Salvation Army services and almost 100 children will have gifts to unwrap.
