'The Office' Revival in the Works at NBC: Report

Not so long ago, Deadline had reported NBC's revival wishlist, which included The Office as one its top desires.

Ever since this year's Will & Grace reboot went reasonably well, TV executives have been chomping at the bit to get in on that sweet, sweet nostalgia money and the American version of The Office is next in line.

Sources claim "The Office" revival would feature a mix of old and new cast members, though it's not clear which original stars will be returning to the show. Headlined by Steve Carell as Regional Manager Michael Scott for many seasons, it eventually turned the focus on other characters. I've talked to Greg [Daniels, producer and writer of The Office US] four times over the past few years. It's always, 'Maybe someday, but not now.' There is certainly an open invitation, but we don't have anything happening right now. Either way, let's all celebrate with a bowl of Kevin's famous chili.

The network declined to comment on reports that a "The Office" revival is in the works. "If he wants to do it, I would do it", he said. "That's what she said!" The show, a US take on the original United Kingdom series, followed the lives of workers at Dunder Mifflin in Scranton, Pennsylvania. Additionally, John Krasinski is now working with Amazon Studios for their new Jack Ryan series, so he too seems an unlikely returning cast member.

It starred Carell, Rainn Wilson, John Krasinski, Jenna Fischer, Craig Robinson, Mindy Kaling, and B.J.
