Jimbo Fisher made a somewhat surprising decision when he chose to leave his job at Florida State to take on a new challenge at Texas A&M, but those who are familiar with the relationship between Fisher and his former bosses saw it coming. "You can have Vince Lombardi, Tom Landry, Chuck Noll - you can have the greatest coaches in the world".
Wilcox also had kind words for Fisher, who finished his FSU career with an 83-23 record, the 2013 national championship, three conference titles and 42 players selected in the NFL draft.
It is not clear yet what Fisher's salary would be for the 2018 season. "And again, my time at Florida State, I loved it". Fisher though likes coaches with Texas ties.
An FSU fan questioned coach Jimbo Fisher's loyalty to the Seminoles and was kicked out of the radio show audience Thursday night.
"Today, I stand you with proof that Texas A&M is an opportunity for greatness", Woodward said.
Woodward said by bringing Fisher to A&M that is just another confirmation that Aggieland has was it takes to do so.
Fisher said he didn't plan to leave FSU, but he called A&M a destination job - one he hopes to retire from.
"We've got to get caught up", Fisher said in September.
"In the short amount of time that i've been here... the people here are incredible", Fisher said. We made a few little adjustments. "There's a oneness to everything you to do be successful, and I knew he had the same vision I did". "We've got to get caught up in that area".
Another factor that could be playing against Texas A&M as Taylor-Stuart's recruitment continues is that four-star defensive back Leon O'Neal recently de-committed from the Aggies.
You can bet Texas A&M will pour money into its program to try to make the Aggies a consistent SEC West contender under Fisher. "I say this diligently, your expectations will never be greater than mine".
