When the doll was cradled by Teegan, a 3-year-old playing Mary in the skit decided the show must go on and took the baby away.
The sheep, played by Tana Benson's little girl, Teegan, got up, took baby Jesus out of the manger and began to play with the doll on stage. The toddler, who has been singing the songs and talking about Baby Jesus in the auto for weeks according to her mom, was determined to get her hands on the doll in the crèche. She's a stickler for the rules, so she tried to restore order to the scene and took him back, according to Benson.
An adorable Nativity scene in an East Tennessee church took a hilarious turn when the little girl playing a sheep chose to play with baby Jesus.
It wasn't a silent night, and all wasn't calm, either.
Teegan Benson's mother, Tana, said in the caption for the video that the pageant would be "a program I will remember".
"Actually everything on my Facebook has been really private, and it was private, and then a lady asked if she could share it", Benson said. LOVE these kiddos and my church family! I don't know 1,000 people.
"Another mom, the angel's mom and I were sitting there saying, 'oh my gosh, do we go up there?"
Benson said the video is amusing but also touches on the true meaning of Christmas.
