New Year's Day will be nearly a mirror image of Sunday with temperatures reaching a high near 19 and a low of around 10.

"Generally, 1" to 3" of snow will be possible by early Saturday morning.

A Winter Storm Warning for snow and blowing snow means severe winter weather conditions are expected. Forecast models have the snow showers moving out by midnight EST Saturday.

"Snow accumulations of 2" - 4" for most valleys is likely with up to 8" to 16" for mountain passes. Southern third of the state picking up at most an inch. Highs only hitting the mid teens Saturday afternoon with temperatures on a downward spiral throughout the day. The temperature is expected to drop to a low around 13 Saturday night with winds of 8 to 10 miles per hour. Sunday temperatures continue to drop with highs barely reaching the double digits.
