Epl: Arsenal 3 - 3 Liverpool: The madness continues

The point leaves Liverpool a point clear of Arsenal in fourth place ahead of their Boxing Day meeting with Swansea at Anfield.

Carragher says Arsenal and his old side showed why they were two of the most entertaining teams in England, but that their defensive frailties will lead to a continued lack of silverware with both teams now undergoing long league droughts.

The Reds led 2-0 at the Emirates Stadium through goals from Philippe Coutinho and Mohamed Salah, but three quickfire strikes and a comeback marked by Mesut Ozil put the Gunners 3-2 up.

With a goalkeeper like Simon Mignolet, Liverpool will always concede even though Klopp said afterward, "We played 94 minutes and for 89 minutes, the performance was what we wanted".

The Gunners immediately responded with Alexis Sanchez scoring in the very next minute. We were scared to play our game.

Jamie Carragher believes that while Arsenal and Liverpool's 3-3 draw was a great advert for the Premier League, their defensive problems will lead to a lack of silverware. That will be a fantastic situation.

Hopefully, Arsenal vs Liverpool is just the beginning of a thrilling next couple weeks of Premier League football.

"Then, after these five minutes, we reacted then much better and deserved in the end the point".

"And then in this unusual game, everybody probably thought first, "this is Liverpool's night" and then after these five minutes everybody thought "now it's Arsenal's night". Against good teams at this level you get punished and it happened". Perhaps nothing was more damning than Milner's admission after the game, "We've got to see the game out".

With the score 0-0 at the time, Henderson was replaced by James Milner who captained the Reds for the remainder of the game.

"Third one, misjudgement - too deep, no offside, we let them go in the box and make it too easy. As a team, they work well and that's why it will be a hard task for us to beat them on Friday".
