UCF HC Scott Frost has resigned from his position and will take the head-coaching post at Nebraska.

Frost was a former Huskers quarterback under legendary coach Tom Osborne. After dispatching of South Florida in one of the best college football games of the season, UCF know will host Memphis in the American Athletic Conference Championship Game. I am truly humbled to be here. Frost is faced with the task of rebuilding a program that during a 4-8 season had their most losses since 1957, their fewest wins since 1961 and saw opponents score more than 50 points four times. "I hope I'm wrong, but there's little question in my mind now that Frost will be the next head coach of 'Huskers".

Frost narrowed his college choices to Nebraska and Stanford and shocked the state when he accepted Bill Walsh's offer to play for the Cardinal. At UCF, Frost amassed a record of 18-7, including an undefeated regular season.

The new Husker coach also played six seasons in the National Football League for four different teams.

He then went to OR to work as receivers coach under Kelly, and when Helfrich took over as head coach in 2013, he appointed Frost as his offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach. He's also a Nebraska native, from Wood River. The Huskers have not won a conference championship in football since 1999 and have not contended for a national title since the early 2000s.

Frost will be the first person since Frank Solich to both play and coach at Nebraska.

"I am appreciative of the confidence (athletic director) Bill Moos and our University leadership have in me to lead this program".
