Good news for (some) Android users! Well now, a company executive has said that the Oreo update will be rolling out to unlocked U11 starting today. It's released in phases so it might take a few days for the deployment process to complete.
The Oreo update will escalate the U11 to the exclusive list of Android Oreo devices.
Unfortunately, he didn't share any specific in terms of dates, but now that it's rolling out for the HTC U11, we can only hope that it will reach more HTC handsets and carrier-locked devices soon. This has become something of a tradition for Mo: Around the same time previous year, he took to Twitter to announce the Nougat update for the unlocked HTC 10. The Taiwanese original equipment manufacturer has been testing the Oreo update for its high-end phablet for over a month now, having initially rolled it out to users in its home country in mid-November. Naturally, carrier models are next in line to receive the software update.
If you own an unlocked U11 in the Americas, check your phone for an update tomorrow, or check HTC's "Updates & Downloads" page for the U11 for details and download instructions. The U11 has a great design, especially, the Solar Red colour option looks stunning. Now it is the turn of the HTC U11. The smartphone now runs on Android 7.1.2 Nougat operating system. Nevertheless, it might make into other Asian markets pretty soon. The Oreo OS update will be available for download on the HTC u11 unlocked version starting on Monday!
The smartphone also introduced a new technology called Edge Sense with which you can interact with the U11 by squeezing it.
