UK police investigating 2nd Spacey sex-assault claim

Kevin Spacey: UK police 'investigate sexual assault claim'

The new allegation was made to police a day after the Old Vic said it had received 20 claims of inappropriate behaviour by Spacey and it had encouraged 14 of the complainants to go to the police.

"On Wednesday, November 1, City of London Police referred an allegation of sexual assault to the Metropolitan Police Service".

Met Police officers say they are looking into a claim that a man sexually assaulted another man in the London borough of Lambeth.

In contact with the French Agency, Scotland Yard confirmed that it had expanded the investigation to a male accused of sexual abuse without clarifying his identity, as no charges have been made at the moment against this person.

Star Trek: Discovery actor Anthony Rapp was the first to come forward with allegations against Spacey, saying the older actor tried to "seduce" him when he was 14.

The Met has declined to identify the alleged attacker involved in the sexual assault, which took place in 2005.

"The allegations are of sexual assaults against a man, victim two, in 2005 in Lambeth".

Spacey was artistic director of The Old Vic from 2004 to 2015.

Only one of the alleged victims reported the incidents at the time.

The incidents reported to the Lambeth theatre cover a period of 1995 to 2013 and have not been verified, The Old Vic said.

"This clearly unacceptable and The Old Vic truly apologises for not creating an environment or culture where people felt able to speak freely".

There were many other allegations made after Rapp's story became public.

In response, Netflix severed all ties with Spacey, sacking him from House of Cards in the process.
