The 2017 American Music Awards aired live Sunday from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. She capped off the medley with her smash hit song "Ain't No Mountain High Enough", during which her grandkids joined her on stage.
The 73-year-old introduced youth and life to the stage, capturing the crowds with a lively performance of "I'm Coming Out", during which, the cameras panned to her granddaughter singing along in the crowd. In Swift's acceptance speech, she spoke equally as highly of Ross, stating, "I am so blown away to have just received an award from Diana Ross.so honored". "These are my grandbabies!" she declared while dancing with them. "Through it all, there has always been music", Ross said as she closed her video soliloquy.
The singer was accompanied by all those that played an important role in her life, from her daughters Rhonda Ross Kendrick and Tracee Ellis Ross, to the Motown head who discovered her, Berry Gordy. This says it all, this is my family and I'm sending love out there to all of you.
In the show's 45-year history, Ross has won seven awards and performed countless times.
