Morrissey said victims of sexual assault “know exactly what’s going on.”

Morrissey has reportedly claimed Kevin Spacey has been "needlessly attacked" over an allegation of sexual misconduct.

Actor Anthony Rapp accused Spacey of picking him up, putting him on a bed in his apartment after a party in 1986, then lying on top of him in an attempt to seduce him. I don't know what it was like for him but in my youth I was never in a situation like that. Kevin Spacey was 26 and the boy was 14. One also wonders if the boy didn't know what could happen. Never. It was always clear to me what could happen. "When you are in somebody's bedroom, you have to be aware of where that can lead to", he said. That's why it doesn't sound very credible to me. During an interview with Spiegel Online, Morrissey said it seems Spacey has "been unnecessarily attacked" and that Rapp may have "had an inkling of what might possibly happen". But the Morrissey sexual harassment comments are far worse than Stefano Gabbana's recent comments because they accuse sexual assault victims of being naive and manipulative.

Since the initial misconduct story broke, over 50 women have claimed that they were victims of Weinstein's sexual abuse, with allegations ranging from inappropriate behavior to rape.

After the interview began to spread, fans and the media began to slam Morrissey for his views on sexual assault in the entertainment industry. But if everything had gone just fine and made possible a great career, they wouldn't talk about it'. I hate sexual situations that are forced on someone. You have to put these things in the right relations. Afterward, they feel embarrassed, or they do not like it. "But in quite a few cases, you look at the situation and think that the people being described as victims are simply disappointed. And then they turn it around and say: 'I was attacked, I was surprised, I was pulled into the room.' But if everything went well, and it helped them to a big career, they wouldn't be talking about it". In the whole history of Rock "n" Roll there've been musicians who've slept with groupies. "If you go through the history of music, everybody must be guilty of underage sex, so are you going to throw everybody in prison?"
