Government specialists on Tuesday joined K-9 units and helicopters brushing a country group close to the North Carolina drift where a 3-year-old young lady vanished subsequent to being put to bed.
Woods went to keep an eye on her the next morning, however cautioned experts at around 6 a.m. when she couldn't discover her.
"Every second counts when a child is missing, especially after the cold night we just had", Miller said.
Miller, with the Onslow County Sheriff's Office, said authorities interviewed the child's mother and her live-in boyfriend but would not comment further during the news conference about the ongoing investigation. "She is a very sweet, loving girl".
Officials said Mariah Kay Woods was last seen at 2405-7 Dawson Cabin Road in Jacksonville.
"Just to be able to touch her and hold her and not let her go again", she continued.
Alex Woods told the station he's not convinced the girl was abducted. She said she does not know the family but felt compelled to help. The Onslow County Sheriff's Department is also asking neighbors in the area to check their yards, sheds and other areas for any sign of the missing girl. He asked that anyone who has had contact with Mariah's family since Sunday to please call his office.
WCTI 12 spoke to Mariah's father, who said he hasn't seen his daughter in a year.
