For those who suffer from short-arm-deep-pockets syndrome, Apple is releasing a new iPhone SE 2.

The report said the upcoming device will be exclusively manufactured by Wintron in Bangalore, India and will be released worldwide.

The current version resembles the iPhone 5S with Touch ID, a 12 MP rear camera, 2GB of RAM, and a 3.5mm headphone jack (yeah, those still exist!).

The Cupertino giant is tight-lipped on the new iPhone SE which could be named iPhone SE 2, iPhone SEs, iPhone SEC or even some other names but it has been in news since July this year. And, the smartphone has become a success among those who prefer the classic iPhone design and a not-so-expensive price tag.

The iPhone SE 2 would likely give Apple a boost as sales of its iPhone X and iPhone 8 models slow down later in 2018.

The company's iPhone SE was last refreshed in March of this year with new memory configurations. Beyond this, there is not much information available at the time of writing. These two reports from legitimate sources make it look very likely that the iPhone SE 2 launch date will be within the first few months of the year. Previous reports surrounding the smartphone suggested that the device could come with a fairly modest update, featuring a faster chip.

KitGuru Says: The iPhone SE has remained surprisingly popular, so there is a market for an upgraded version. For imaging, the device might come with a 12MP primary camera and a 5MP selfie camera at the front. Also, it is tipped that the iPhone SE 2 might be priced starting from $450.
