Las Vegas Gunman Might Have Been Planning To Attack Life Is Beautiful A Week Prior

The Daily Beast says a "senior law enforcement source" reports Stephen Paddock may have initially targeted the "Life Is Beautiful" music festival in Las Vegas the weekend of September 23rd.

The man who killed more than 50 people and injured over 500 in a Las Vegas shooting Sunday may have been targeting a music festival featuring Chance The Rapper.

The news site visited the Ogden, a 21-story luxury condominium tower, and stated that it was "in line of sight to the concert-grounds".

The source didn't give a reason for why Paddock didn't initiate that attack, only saying he "may have lost his nerve or simply changed his plans".

Stephen Paddock reportedly scoped out the annual downtown event, which took place a week before he opened fire on Route 91 Harvest Festival revelers from a perch on the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay hotel.

"We're not in a position to confirm or deny anything about Mr. Paddock's dealings".

The "Life is Beautiful" festival "was held in Las Vegas just over a week ago" and "had a line-up including Blink-182, Chance the Rapper and Lorde". Warren is the public affairs officer for Fais Foley Warren, owner of The Ogden.

At this time, it's not clear if it was a thwarted attempt to commit an earlier attack or a dry run as part of his meticulous planning for the Route 91 Harvest Festival attack.

Police said Paddock, 64, was found dead when authorities stormed his Mandalay Bay hotel room.

"The Life is Beautiful Festival family is devastated by the horrific events that took place on October 1 in our hometown of Las Vegas".

With new information being revealed daily, we continue to keep the victims and the families of those affected in our prayers and thoughts.
