McDonald's brings back Szechuan Sauce for one day only

Here are Michigan McDonald's selling Rick and Morty's legendary Szechuan sauce

'Rick and Morty': Is McDonald's bringing back Rick's favorite dipping sauce?

McDonald's Szechuan sauce is coming back to Chicago for the first time in almost 20 years - and fans have the popular Cartoon Network show "Rick and Morty" to thank.

Packets of the dipping sauce will be available at 2 p.m. October 7 at select McDonald's restaurants across the nation, including one restaurant in central Pennsylvania.

Sauce is available starting at 2 p.m. for dine-in orders only. Each custom, screen-printed poster allows customers to showcase their sauce passions for Creamy Ranch, Honey, Honey Mustard, Hot Mustard, Spicy Buffalo, Sriracha Mac Sauce, Sweet 'n Sour, Tangy Barbeque and the new Signature Sauce.

The promotion coincides with the debut of McDonald's new Buttermilk Crispy Tenders.

"Guys, we did it".

On October 7, McDonald's restaurants across the U.S. will have Szechuan sauce in "limited quantities" before the sauce presumably disappears again. After returning with the Szechuan Sauce from the always-1998 dimension, C-1998M, we did some science and now we have a bit more sauce!

Fans have fallen back in love with the sauce after it was name-dropped in an episode of "Rick & Morty".

Although it's been years since the condiment has been offered at the fast food chain, the limited edition sauce will finally make its return for one day only this weekend.

As it turns out, McDonald's listens to its customers.

Buttermilk Crispy Tenders became available nationwide at participating McDonald's restaurants on September 27 and are sold for $3.79-$3.99 for a 4-piece serving. After hearing about the sauce's renewed popularity thanks to Adult Swim's Rick and Morty, McDonald's produced three more bottles of it that were randomly given away to a trio of fans via Twitter, much to the chagrin of everyone who didn't manage to snag one.
