The Google Home Mini has been leaked in full detail earlier and, as expected, it is a smaller version of the Google Home smart speaker with built-in Google Assistant. It has four LED lights to let users know when it is active.

For design, the Google Home Mini sports the similar fabric speaker grill at the top and a solid-plastic bottom base like the original Google Home, but seems like Google's answer to Amazon's Echo Dot.

First up, Google has expanded its lineup of smart speakers with two new options - the Mini and Maxi.

The Google Home Mini has been priced at $49 (roughly Rs. 3,200), and will go up for pre-orders on Wednesday itself in the seven nations the Google Home smart speaker is now available in - Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Japan, UK, and US. Pre-order starts today. The Mini ships October 19, and will be available in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Japan, UK, and United States in three colors: coral, chalk, and charcoal. And it projects 360-degree sound so you'll never miss a beat. It provides the same functionality as the standard Home device, but its small stature and less hearty hardware make it more appealing as a smart home controller and info hub than an audio device. It'll be available in other Google Home territories (like the UK) sometime next year.

What the Echo family can't yet do is handle multi-room Spotify around other Echo devices or speakers in your house.

The Google Home Mini is priced at $49. Under the hood, Home Max features an acoustic brace, two 4.5-inch high-excursion woofers, and 0.7-inch tweeters. Smart Sound automatically adjusts for where users place Max in a room. The Max can accept input as a Google Cast target, over Bluetooth, or by using the 3.5-mm auxilliary input.

The front is covered by a fabric that is available in two colours: chalk and charcoal.

The Google Home Max is set to be sold for $399 in the United States in December.

With streaming taking a greater emphasis nowadays, the Home Max comes with a 12-month subscription to YouTube Music, an ad-free way of streaming music that's on YouTube.

Elsewhere, Google Home is also getting a rather nifty feature in the form of hands-free calling.

Google Home Max will be available for $399 in December, but you can pre-order one starting November 13th.
