Cher Has Joined The Cast Of The 'Mamma Mia' Sequel

Cher has joined the cast of "Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again" and hinted she will be performing ABBA hit "Fernando" in the motion picture.

Her role in the film has not yet been confirmed but we are so excited to see what character she will be playing.

Well you best believe it because not only is there going to be a sequel to the 2008 hit musical - which will be called Mamma Mia!

"WELL, I'M IN MOMMA MIA 2", she finally confirmed to a fan when quizzed about her involvement.

But the role which Cher will play, along with which ABBA songs she'll sing, are closely guarded secrets. New to the franchise are Andy Garcia, Lily James, Alexa Davies, Jessica Keenan Wynn, Jeremy Irvine, Josh Dylan and Hugh Skinner.

This also marks a reunion for Cher and Meryl Streep, both of whom co-starred in the the 1983 film, "Silkwood". She previously won an Academy Award for 1988's Moonstruck.

Many stars of the original film are set to return, including Meryl Streep, Pierce Brosnan and Dame Julie Walters.

Whether she's visiting the Tonys, crooning standards, or sharing the stage with some of Broadway's most notable legends, Cher has proven over the years that she is more than ready for her musical theatre takeover.
