Sony Xperia XZ1 smartphone will be launched in India today

Sony has launched its new smartphone, the Xperia XZ1 in India. The handset will be available in Moonlit Blue, Warm Silver, and Venus Pink color variants and will be available in the country starting from today.

The Xperia XZ1 has a premium aluminum unibody design and is IP68 certified for water and dust resistance.

Supporting dual SIM cards (Nano+Nano), the Sony Xperia XZ1 boasts a 5.2-inch full HD (1080x1920 pixels) TRILUMINOS display protected by Gorilla Glass 5 and runs an octa-core Snapdragon 835 processor along with 4GB RAM and 64GB inbuilt storage. Especially worth noting is its 5.2-inch Full HD HDR display. The camera is capable of supporting slow motion video recording and also supports 4K video recording. The selfie camera in the meanwhile has not been ignored either, the 13-Megapixel front-facing camera comes with a f/2.0 lens and offers FHD video recording. It also has fingerprint sensor and dedicated shutter key.

The Sony Xperia XZ1 will be available starting October 4 in U.S. for $599 and for £499 in UK.

Sony says that thanks to the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 procesor, the phone is likely to deliver up to 1Gbps download speeds. Last week Sony launched Sony Xperia XA1 in India and now it is expected that the company will soon launch the Sony Xperia XZ1 compact in India.

The Xperia XZ1 is the first smartphone in the world that has a 3D Creator that lets you capture and print images in 3D. Cut to 2017, the same familiar design now seems underwhelming and nowhere close to what Samsung and LG have pulled off with the phones such as the Galaxy Note 8 and LG G6.

The Xperia XZ1 will be available in Black colour only from today onwards at Rs. 44,990. We pitted all three smartphones based on their price specifications, and here's how they fare.

Camera: The device sports a 19MP sensor on the rear camera and an 8MP sensor (wide-angle) on the front camera.

Cameras are one of the main highlights of the XZ1. It will come with QuickCharge 3.0 support and Sony will be bundling the Quick Charger UCH-12. It will come with the connectivity options like WiFi 802.11 ac MIMO, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS, A-GPS, NFC, USB 3.1 and USB Type-C.
