Dallas Mavericks owner and billionaire Mark Cuban loaned the team's private jet to point guard J.J Barea to deliver emergency supplies to Puerto Rico in the wake of Hurricane Maria.

Puerto Rico Resident Commissioner Jenniffer Gonzalez (R) revealed the gesture in a Tuesday tweet, thanking the "Fireball" rapper in Spanish. "Together we can help rebuild our island and the Caribbean". "Just doing my part", PITBULL told the paper. News about the offer, he told the TV news magazine, "Thank God we're blessed to help".

"Puerto Rico is under a humanitarian crisis", he said on Instagram.

Barea and his wife, Viviana Ortiz, launched an online fundraiser the day the Category 4 hurricane hit Puerto Rico, knocking out power and causing flooding throughout the island. Barea's father is expected to stay in Puerto Rico to assist with relief efforts.

He says he would like to get more supplies into the devastated island. "What's foremost on my mind and my others is trying to figure out the best way to help". He also revealed that he'll be donating $1million (£747K) to help rebuild the island. The 33-year-old Puerto Rico national team star confirmed that he finally spoke to his family on Sunday after struggling to reach them following the storm: "They're OK".
