Intrusion By Pak's Border Action Team Stopped In Jammu And Kashmir

The Army today foiled an infiltration attempt by seven intruders who were attempting to sneak across the Line of Control in the Keran sector in Jammu and Kashmir under cover fire of Pakistani soldiers.

"Indian side retaliated strongly and effectively", said defence spokesperson, adding that the firing stopped around 11:30am.

The attack came after Army said one militant was killed in a gun battle in Uri, making it the fifth such killing in the area in the last two days.

Data released by Pakistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs show that 40 innocent civilians have lost their lives in Pakistan this year as a result of unprovoked ceasefire violations by India.

Around eight armed intruders were trying to infiltrate inside Indian boundaries.

Pakistan on Thursday condemned the statement of Indian Army chief in which he warned that India could carry out another surgical strike into Pakistan-administered Kashmir if it is required. It was BAT men who had killed and decapitated two Indian jawans in May in a barbaric action. Identifying the injured woman as Shamim Akhtar of Dharati village, sources said that mortar shells from across the LoC suddenly started falling in Balakote area of Mendhar around 8 am, according to The Indian Express.

Poonch (Jammu and Kashmir): The Pakistan Army on Wednesday violated ceasefire in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch and Bhimber Gali sectors, along the Line of Control (LoC). They immediately informed police about the suspicious movement which with the Army and the CRPF launched the operation.
