With the Echo itself now unavailable on Amazon US, and under a significant price cut on Amazon UK, a successor would appear to be nailed on. It's unclear what kind of AR features the glasses will have to offer, but we'd assume AR is included.

Amazon has also added dual speakers to the system with support for Dolby Atmos.

Alexa is the key to shine in the mobile device market for Amazon.

The Fire HD 10 packs a MediaTek quad-core processor with 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB as base storage.

Amazon has launched a new Fire tablet in the United States that offers improved features at a low price as compared to the previous variants.

Another product coming to market very soon from the company is said to be a Nest-like connected security camera that can be controlled by Alexa-enabled Echo products, including showing its video feed on the Echo Show screen. Dim the lights or adjust the thermostat using just your voice.

According to a report by the Financial Times, the glasses could be revealed at a product launch event expected to be held soon alongside a home security camera, created to tie in with its Echo Show video screen.

Alexa is available on Android and iPhone, but is embedded inside Amazon's shopping app.

Amazon has never been the type to fix what is not broken, so the 2017 Fire HD 10 tablet looks just about the same as the previous version. Alongside a traditional app interface is a "For You" page created to reflect how customers use their tablets. Customers can also quickly access family photos from Prime Photos and see their local weather right from the For You home screen.

"The tablet features a 10.1" widescreen 1080p Full HD display with 224 ppi.

Pre-orders for the Fire HD 10 are now live with prices starting at 149.99. It also comes with expandable storage support for up to 256GB via microSD card.

Up to 10 hours of mixed use battery life, giving you the flexibility to go wherever the day takes you.

This could make Alexa even more attractive for users who already rely on the assistant at home.
